CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Duke University sophomore Beatrice Capra advanced to the singles final at the 2013 USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championship on Sunday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Top-seeded Capra, who is out of Ellicott City, Md., collected wins over 100th-ranked Ashley Dai, 6-1, 6-0, and seventh-ranked Yana Koroleva of Clemson, 7-5, 6-0, to reach the finals.  She will take on North Carolina’s second-seeded Hayley Carter in the finals on Monday beginning at 11:15 a.m.

Marianne Jodoin, who is a product of Varennes, Quebec, saw her run in singles come to an end with a 3-6, 0-6 loss to Koroleva in the quarterfinals.

In doubles play, Duke’s tandem of Annie Mulholland and Chalena Scholl dropped a 3-8 decision to Clemson’s third-seeded duo of Beatrice Gumulva and Jessy Rompies.  Jodoin and freshman Alyssa Smith also concluded their run in the quarterfinals to North Carolina’s second-seeded Carter and Jamie Loeb, 1-8.
