MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Austin Cody, Turner Southey-Gordon and Motin Yeung each finished in the top 20 at the Bash at the Beach Tuesday. The Duke trio played in the event at the Surf Golf and Beach Club as individuals.
Southey-Gordon fired a four-under 67 in the final round to close with a one-over 214. He finished tied for 14th along with teammate Cody and two others. Cody shot a two-over 73 Tuesday for a 214 (71-70-73).
Yeung recorded a two-under 69 and tie for 18th with a three-over 216 (74-73-69).
Rich Leeper (James Madison) claimed the individual title with a nine-under 204. He posted a six-under 65 Tuesday to best teammate Trey Smith (James Madison) by one shot. Callum Tarren (Radford) finished two shots back with Chase Wilson (High Point) and Daniel Walsh (Appalachian State) tying for fifth at three-under.
Radford claimed the team championship with a seven-under 845, five shots better than Jacksonville. James Madison placed third with a six-over 858.
