DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke men’s soccer team continues its spring slate of games with a pair of road contests over a span of three days. The Blue Devils travel to play Wake Forest Saturday evening and will take on North Carolina FC Monday morning.
Duke and the Demon Deacons kick off Saturday night at 7 p.m., at MacPherson Stadium in Bryan Park, N.C. The Blue Devils take a break Sunday before getting back on the field in Raleigh Monday morning against the USL’s North Carolina FC.
The game against Wake Forest will be the third this spring for the Blue Devils. Duke also squared off against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL and UNC Greensboro. It also will be Wake Forest’s third game of the spring. The Demon Deacons previously faced East Tennessee State and Radford. Wake Forest finished the 2016 season with a 19-3-3 record, finishing as the runner-up in the NCAA College Cup.
Two days later, the Blue Devils will make the short trip to Raleigh to take on North Carolina FC at WakeMed Soccer Park. The game will start at 8:45 a.m. on the field adjacent to the stadium.
North Carolina FC, formerly the Carolina Railhawks, recently kicked off its 2017 campaign with a 1-1 draw against Miami FC last weekend. It travels next to San Francisco Deltas April 8.
The newest addition to North Carolina FC’s roster is former Duke center back Christian Ibeagha. The four-year letterwinner recently signed with the North Carolina club after most recently playing with the Colorado Switchbacks.
