CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Junior goalkeeper Gabbe Cadoux and senior attacker Olivia Jenner have been named to the 2019 ACC Women’s Lacrosse All-Tournament Team, as announced by the conference following Sunday’s championship match.
Cadoux totaled 17 saves over sixth-seeded Duke’s two contests at the ACC Championship, giving the Ellicott City, Md., native a strong finish to the month of April. She bolstered a thrilling performance by the Blue Devils in Wednesday evening’s quarterfinal round upset of third-seeded Notre Dame, notching nine stops between the pipes. Along with Duke’s defensive unit, she helped hold the Irish under their season scoring average in the 14-13 victory. In addition, a critical save by Cadoux late in the contest set up Jenner to tally the eventual game winner. In Saturday’s semifinal loss to second-seeded North Carolina, Cadoux notched eight saves and matched her season high with four ground balls.
Jenner earned ACC All-Tournament Team accolades for the second time in her career to round out an exciting week in Boston for the Blue Devil co-captain. She matched her career-high scoring output with six tallies – including the game winner inside the final five minutes – to lead Duke to the quarterfinal victory over the Irish. Jenner also teamed up with sister Maddie Jenner to combine for 10 of the squad’s 14 draw controls and added one ground ball and one caused turnover. Olivia Jenner was the spark for the Duke attack again Saturday against the Tar Heels, finishing with a team-high four markers and 12 draw controls.
This week, Olivia Jenner was also recognized on the All-ACC First Team, as one of 25 women’s nominees for the 2019 Tewaaraton Award and was selected eighth overall by the New England Command in the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) Spring Draft.
The Blue Devils (10-8) return to Durham to host VCU in their final regular season contest Sunday, May 5 at 12 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. The game marks Senior Day for the program.
