DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men’s golf team had three honored on the PING All-East Region Team in senior Alex Smalley, junior Chandler Eaton and sophomore Adrien Pendaries.

The 2019 teams were announced by PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) this week to honor Division I players across six regions -- Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West.

The Blue Devils’ trio of Eaton, Pendaries and Smalley each were All-ACC honorees this season, while Eaton also earned Honorable Mention All-America honors thanks to his top-15 finish at the 2019 NCAA Championship.

Duke joined Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Liberty, NC State, Clemson and North Carolina with multiple players to earn All-East honors.

Smalley earned his fourth consecutive PING All-Region nod and graduates as the Blue Devils’ career scoring leader with a 71.32 career average in 49 tournaments. The senior from Wake Forest, N.C., also paced Duke this season with a regular-season record 70.35 stroke average.

Eaton and Pendaries are just off Smalley’s career record, with Eaton playing to a 71.41 average over his three seasons and Pendaries at 71.75. Eaton is second to Smalley in single-season scoring average with his 70.71 this season.

As a team, the Blue Devils reached the NCAA Championship for the third straight season and fourth time in five years. Eaton’s All-America honor is his second in as many years. He has finished top 15 in each of the last two seasons, becoming the first Duke player to do so multiple times in a career.

Eaton has earned All-Region in each of his three season and Pendaries repeats on the squad.
