DURHAM, N.C. – Recent Duke fencing graduate Pascual Di Tella has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District III Men’s At-Large Team, as announced by the organization.

One of 10 male student-athletes selected to the NCAA Division I All-District III team, Di Tella was joined by fellow Blue Devil Leona Maguire as a female selection. Di Tella becomes just the fourth Duke fencing male to be selected and the first since 2011.

A native of Vincente Lopez, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Di Tella is one of the most decorated Blue Devils in recent fencing history. Di Tella rounded out his stellar campaign as a Blue Devil with a 10th-place finish in men’s saber at his fourth NCAA Championship appearance, collecting his second All-America accolade in a Duke lamé. He is just the fifth Blue Devil to capture All-America honors as a saberist and only the second to receive the honor more than once.

Di Tella helped the Duke men’s fencing team make history as they captured its first ACC team title in February at the 2018 ACC Championship.

Throughout his career, Di Tella was a three-time ACC Fencer of the Year, the 2017 ACC Champion, the 2017 ACC Men’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year and qualified for NCAAs and NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional four times. Di Tella won 78.0 percent of his career bouts (163-46) and notched a silver and bronze medal at the ACC Championship, in addition to gold.

Di Tella graduated from Duke earlier in May with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy and a Philosophy, Politics and Economics Certificate and is a four-time All-ACC Academic selection.

The Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
