DURHAM, N.C. – This weekend marks a busy one for the Duke field hockey program, as the Blue Devils continue their spring slate with contests against the U.S. Women’s Development Squad and the U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team in nearby Chapel Hill, N.C.
Saturday will see Duke take on the U.S. Development Squad at 1:30 p.m. at North Carolina’s Karen Shelton Stadium. On Sunday, the Blue Devils return to Chapel Hill to face the U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team – including current Duke junior Jillian Wolgemuth – at 10:30 a.m. Wolgemuth and the U-21 squad also match up with the Tar Heels Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Spring competition is open to the public and there is no cost for admission.
Freshman Leah Crouse and Blue Devil assistant coach Ralph Boersma head to Charlottesville, Va., along with Blue Devil signees Mary Harkins, Hannah Miller, Kelsey Reznick and Josie Varney, for a training weekend with the U.S. U-19 Women’s National Team. The squad takes on Virginia Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Junior Margaux Paolino will be in action this weekend as well with the senior U.S. Women’s National Team, which continues its FIH Pro League slate Friday and Sunday in Lancaster, Pa. Team USA welcomes Belgium Friday night at 7 p.m. at Spooky Nook Sports – the home of USA Field Hockey – before hosting Great Britain Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Live streams ($) will be available for both contests.
A striker for the U.S. squad, Paolino owns 13 career caps.
