DURHAM, N.C. -- A record crowd of over 1,500 fans showed up to interact with the Duke football team on Saturday evening in the Pascal Field House as part of the program's annual "Meet the Team Day."
Every member of Duke's football team spent nearly two hours signing autographs, posing for pictures and getting to know the local Duke football fanbase. The team hosted the event in the Pascal Field House for the first time, giving fans a chance to check out the state-of-the-art indoor practice facility.
"I told our squad today, Duke football fans have to go to the top of the ladder as the most loyal fans in all of college athletics," Duke head coach David Cutcliffe said. "It's in my heart every year that for so many people, you want to be successful because they deserve that. All of the support from all of those people is so consistent; it's been incredible. This is a celebration of that, and I'm just thrilled that we get to share it in such a phenomenal facility."
The Blue Devils open the season at home on September 1 against FIU at 7 p.m., and season tickets are available online at www.GoDuke.com/tickets or by calling the Duke Athletic Ticket Office at 919-681-BLUE.
