DURHAM, N.C. – Coming off registering her second straight individual victory over the last two weeks, Duke sophomore Celine Boutier has been named the Golfweek National Player of the Week.

Boutier, who is out of Montrouge, France, claimed medalist honors at the PING/ASU Invitational over the weekend in Tempe, Ariz.  She carded rounds of 69, 69 and 70 on her way to finishing with a career-best eight-under-par, 208 to win the individual title by one stroke over Arizona State’s Noemi Jimenez.  Boutier rolled in a birdie on the 370-yard, par four 18th hole Sunday to secure her second collegiate victory and help Duke finish tied for second in a loaded field at the event.

She led the tournament in par four scoring at six-under, while placing second overall with 13 birdies in the event.  Boutier is currently ranked No. 8 nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.

Duke will next compete in the ACC Championship from April 17-19 at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
