DURHAM, N.C. – Blue Devil incoming freshman Imani Dorsey has been selected the NSCAA Girls High School Scholar All-America National Player of the Year and will be recognized at the 2014 NSCAA High School All-America Brunch Saturday, Aug. 2 at Lake Buena Vista Palace in Orlando, Fla.

A native of Elkridge, Md., Dorsey recently finished training camp with the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team in Mexico City.  As a senior, she led Our Lady of Good Counsel High School to a 13-1-6 record and the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Tournament title. Dorsey scored 15 goals and passed for seven assists as a senior.  The 2013 Washington Post All-Met Player of the Year and All-America selection, Dorsey concluded her prep soccer career with 51 goals and 30 assists with the Falcons.  

She finished her high school career with over a 4.0 grade-point average.  The 5-6 forward/midfielder was the National Honor Society Vice President and a four-time Principal List Honor roll selection at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School.

Dorsey will report to campus next week as the Blue Devils open preseason practice Aug. 6 in Durham.
