DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke University women’s soccer standout Kim DeCesare has signed a professional contract with Eskilstuna United DFF of the Damallsvenskan League, which is the highest division of women’s soccer in Sweden.

Eskilstuna United DFF recently completed its spring season and currently ranks fifth in the Damallsvenskan League with 15 points.  This past Saturday, Eskilstuna United DFF finished in a 2-2 draw with AIK.  The team has 12 days off before resuming training July 21, which is when DeCesare will start competing with the United.

DeCesare was drafted by the Boston Breakers of the National Women’s Soccer League this past January with the 34th overall selection of the fourth round.  She competed with the reserve squad and recently made her professional debut with the Breakers.

After moving to the forward position as a junior, DeCesare flourished as a scorer for the Blue Devils posting 22 goals over the last two seasons.  For her career, she finished with 29 goals, 15 assists and 73 points.  DeCesare’s 29 goals ranked sixth all-time at Duke and her 73 points were ninth.  As a senior, she earned All-ACC Third Team accolades, while being selected to the All-ACC Second Team her junior campaign.  DeCesare, who is out of Massapequa Park, N.Y., concluded her career with nine game-winning goals and six contests with two more tallies.
