DURHAM, N.C. -- Recently, sat down with senior Dana Morin to learn more about the Sheridan, Wyo., native. Name your three favorite things about being a student-athlete at Duke.
Dana Morin: All of the opportunities that are available. I feel like there’s a lot of support academically and athletically that you can be the best athlete and the best student and the best person all in one, it’s not so separate. It’s hard to list, one, two three, but I think just how much support we have from students, faculty and coaches, it’s pretty incredible. What is your favorite competition-related memory?
DM: Last year was my first year competing since being injured for two years, so I think just getting out there again. Last cross country season, I didn’t really expect it, but I was on the ACC team. I didn’t imagine myself on it, so just getting out there and running my first 6K and being a part of that team was an incredible experience to be together in that moment. What is your favorite memory away from competition?
DM: My class is really close to each other. Whenever we get together for dinner or anything, it’s pretty memorable just in that it’s really goofy. I think I’ll really miss just those times spent together where you do whatever you want, out of control. Name three of your favorite restaurants in Durham.
DM: I love Foster’s. It’s fun to be in the outdoorsy environment with homemade food. Lilly’s Pizza is amazing. Pop’s is good for special occasions. Name three foods that you can’t live without.
DM: Raisins, peanut butter and ice cream. Describe yourself in three words.
DM: Positive, honest, but not in a negative way. I want to know myself and I want to know others, and I also think I’m full of heart.
