GREENSBORO, N.C. – Coming off posting three goals and two assists during the season-opening weekend, Duke women’s soccer redshirt junior Kim DeCesare has been selected ACC Player of the Week as was as the Ronald McDonald House Charities Duke Student-Athlete of the Week.
DeCesare, who is a product of Massapequa, N.Y., posted one goal in the 4-1 victory over 20th-ranked William & Mary on Friday and then registered two goals and two assists in an 8-0 win against Elon on Sunday.
Over the weekend, DeCesare made the first starts of her career at center forward and now owns 10 career goals, including three game-winners. She was also named the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week on Monday for her efforts.
The second-ranked Blue Devils are slated to play the University of Montreal on Aug. 24 and will face off against Florida on Aug. 26 as part of the UNC Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C.
