2014-15: During the cross country season, race six times and recorded three top-10 finishes…led the Blue Devils at the season-opening Virginia Duals (8/29), finishing the 4K race in third with a time of 12:35…placed eighth at the JMU Invitational with an 8K time of 25:18.40…raced to a 5K time of 15:23.02 at the Three Stripe Invitational (11/8) to finish sixth…at the ACC Championship, finished the 8K in 25:25.0 to place 83rd overall…Indoors, voted as the men’s team’s most improved senior…claimed first team All-America accolades as part of the seventh-place finishing distance medley relay team at the NCAA Indoor Championships (3/13)…handled the 800-meter leg to help the Blue Devils combine for a 9:39.32 performance…earned a spot on the All-ACC second team after helping the DMR place second at the ACC Indoor Championships (2/26) with a time of 9:43.15…ran leadoff for the 4x800 unit that took first at the Armory Invitational (1/31) with a 7:31.86…also ran the first leg for the 4x800 that finished second at the Millrose Games (2/14) in a combined time of 7:33.68…individually, ran a personal best in the mile, clocking a 4:10.04 to place eighth at the Hokie Invitational (1/23)…placed 17th at the ACC Indoor Championships (2/27) after crossing the finish line in a time of 4:11.61 in the preliminary heats…opened the season with a fourth-place showing at the Carolina Cup (1/16), running a converted time of 4:11.01…in his lone 1,000-meter race of the season, finished eighth at the Armory Invitational (1/30) with a 2:26.96 performance…Outdoors, served as Duke’s top 800 runner…registered a personal best and the fastest of the season by a Duke runner at the Duke Twilight (5/7), completing the two-lap race in 1:50.08 to place seventh…at the ACC Outdoor Championships (5/15), crossed the finish line in 1:51.74 to finish 16th in the prelims…placed third in the 800 at the Duke Invitational (4/11) after clocking a time of 1:50.87…member of the 4x800 that took eighth at the Penn Relays (4/25) with a 7:25.39, the third-fastest time in school history...ran the second leg of the 4x800 that clocked a winning time of 7:36.70 at the Raleigh Relays (3/28)…also handled third-leg duties for the second-place finishing 4x1,500 relay at the Raleigh Relays (3/28), combining for a 16:03.89 performance…earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Men’s Indoor Track & Field Team and was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the second time.
2013-14: Indoors, qualified for the ACC Indoor Championship (2/28) meet, placing 21st in the mile with a converted time of 4:12.05…also led off the seventh-place finishing distance medley relay at the conference championship…placed first in the 800 at the Virginia Tech Challenge (2/22) with a time of 1:53.18 and at the Virginia Tech Invitational (1/18), in a time of 1:54.56…Outdoors, placed 14th in the 800 at the ACC Outdoor Championships (4/18) in a personal-best time of 1:51.03…also placed 14th at the ACC Outdoor Championships in the 1,500, running a personal-best time of 3:49.58…acted as the leadoff leg of the 4x1,500 that placed first in a time of 15:44.77 at the Raleigh Relays (3/29).
2012-13: Ran once during the fall, clocking 16:07 over 5K as an unattached runner at the Three Stripe Invitational...Farley had a breakout sophomore campaign by running personal best times in both the indoor and outdoor season…Indoors, primarily ran the 800 meter clocking a personal best time of 1:52.78 to finish 13th at the ACC Indoor Championships…competed on the men’s 4x800 relay that finished second at the Armory Collegiate with a combined time of 7:30.24, which ranks fifth on Duke’s all-time list…Outdoors, clocked a personal best time of 1:52.78 to finish fifth at the HPU Vertklasse Meeting, March 23…finished 18th at the ACC Outdoor Championships after crossing the line in 1:52.87…leadoff runner for the 4x800 relays that won the Raleigh Relays in 7:29.77 and Duke Invitational in 7:37.58.
2011-12: Indoors, ran a personal best 1:54.40 at the ACC Indoor Championships which put him in 17th place...outdoors, ran a season-best 1:55.65 in the 800m at the UNC Invitational...finished 29th in the 800m at the ACC Outdoor Championships.
Prior to Duke: Lettered four years in cross country and track & field at Park Tudor...two-time regional qualifier in cross country...led Park Tudor to two consecutive conference championships...in track & field, was a two-time conference champion in the 800m and 1,600m events...finished ninth in the 800m run at the 2010 state meet...two-time state finalist...school record holder in the 800m and the 4x400m relay...named team MVP as a senior and junior...also lettered three years in soccer and one year in swimming...helped his soccer team to a runner-up finish in the region as a junior...in the pool, was a sectional finals qualifier in the 200 free relay...inducted into the Cum Laude Society...graduated with honors and high honors...named an AP Scholar.
Personal: Son of Tim and Diane Farley...born Oct. 15, 1992...has three sisters - Hannah, Abby and Gretchen...twin sister, Abby, is a sophomore on Duke's cross country and track & field teams...sister, Hannah, is a member of the women's track & field team at Stanford...cousin, Laura Farley, ran track and field at Purdue (2003-07)...grandfather, Dick Farley, played basketball at Indiana University (1952-54), where he was a member of the Hoosiers' 1953 National Championship team...he went on to play for the National Basketball League's Syracuse Nationals from 1954-59.
