Career: Recorded two singles titles for career (Duke Fab Four Invitational – Black Bracket, 2013; Winthrop Invitational – 2013).
2015-16: Finished the year with a 17-13 singles record and 6-4 mark in ACC play … in doubles, went 8-12 and 5-7 in dual matches … singles winning percentage of .600 in league action was the best on the squad while six conference victories tied for the team lead … alternated between the No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the order for most of the spring and played as high as No. 3 … ended the campaign winning four of the final six matches … first three decisions of the spring all lasted three sets … pulled Duke within a point of No. 7 Illinois at 3-2 overall with a 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3) victory versus Asher Hirsch … rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 victory against Florida State’s Terrance Whitehurst in initial ACC singles match of the year … recorded a win on highest court of the year, playing at No. 4 against Boston College and winning 6-3, 6-2 versus Alexandre Thirouin … bounced back from a 6-2 loss in the opening set against Virginia Tech’s Mitch Harper to record a 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7) victory … captured another comeback three-set ACC decision with a 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (8) win versus N.C. State’s Ivan Saveljic … tallied Duke’s lone point against No. 3 Virginia, and only win versus a ranked opponent, with a 6-4, 7-6 (3) triumph against No. 88 J.C. Aragone … captured Duke’s win against Notre Dame in the ACC Championship second round match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory on court five against Kenneth Sabacinski … teamed with freshman Ryan Dickerson, freshman Adrian Chamdani, senior Daniel McCall and freshman Catalin Mateas in doubles … started 2-0 with Dickerson before dropping four consecutive decisions, two with Dickerson, one with Chamdani and one with McCall … won first ACC match of the year with Dickerson at No. 3, downing Miami’s Kevin Bondar and Fermin Calvo, 6-4 … added second league doubles triumph with Dickerson against Boston College’s Kent Mukai and Jeff Melvin with a 6-3 decision … earned final doubles win with Mateas on court three versus Clemson with a 6-4 triumph against Robert Dudley and Austin Ansari … completed final fall campaign with a 7-4 record in singles and 3-5 mark in doubles … tallied wins in six of the last eight singles matches … took part in the Duke James Bonk Invite, USTA/ITA Carolina Regional and Wake Forest Invite … posted a 2-2 singles mark at the Bonk Invite and advanced to the Round of 32 in the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional … in the regional, earned consecutive victories to become one of three Duke representatives in the Round of 32, but fell 6-1, 6-1 to North Carolina’s Robert Kelly, ranked No. 105 in the preseason … claimed third place in the B2 flight at the Wake Forest Invite with a 3-1 record … lone setback in Winston-Salem was a 6-3, 3-6, 6-7 (2) loss to Wisconsin’s Alexander Kokorev in the semifinals … in doubles, played with McCall and Dickerson … with McCall, went 1-2 at the Bonk Invite and 1-1 in the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional … closed the fall with Dickerson at the Wake Forest Invite and posted a 1-2 mark.
2014-15: Turned in a 19-14 record with a standout 25-9 mark in doubles ... placed third on the team with 25 doubles wins during the campaign, one behind doubles partner Jason Tahir and three behind Raphael Hemmeler ... went 3-0 at the No. 4 singles spot and 7-1 at No. 6 ... finished the year 13-9 in dual matches and 3-6 in ACC contests ...ended the campaign winning four of last five matches ... began the dual match portion of the year with a six match winning streak, including a pair of three-set comeback victories at No. 8 Illinois and No. 30 Northwestern that clinched matches for Duke ... was blanked 6-0 in the first set to Illinois’ Ross Guignon and trailed 5-1 in the second set before rallying to tally the Blue Devils’ fourth point with a 0-6 7-6 (3), 6-4 victory ... two days later against the Wildcats, dropped first set to Alp Horoz 6-2 before claiming a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 triumph ... earned first career ACC Player of the Week honors Feb. 3 after the comebacks in Illinois ... clinched the ACC Championship first round match against Miami with a 7-5, 6-2 victory against Kevin Bondar on court five ... improved to 3-0 in career NCAA Championship singles action with a 6-0, 6-3 victory against South Carolina State’s Stanislav Baco in the first round ... paired with Tahir in doubles for the majority of the year and finished with a 19-7 mark with him, the most doubles wins of any team on the squad ... went 7-2 in ACC doubles action and finished with a 5-1 mark in the No. 1 doubles spot ... won seven consecutive matches with Tahir from Feb. 28 to April 4 ... tallied one win against a ranked doubles team, teaming up with Hemmeler to defeat Notre Dame’s No. 22 pair Josh Hagar and Eddy Covalschi, 8-2 ... ranked No. 88 by the ITA for one week with Hemmeler ... posted a 4-5 record in the fall while experiencing limited time due to injury rehab ... started the year with a 1-3 record at the Wake Forest Fall Invitational before bouncing back in his last five matches by going 3-2 ... finished 1-1 at the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional and went 2-1 at the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic ... played doubles in three tournaments, ending on a strong note with three straight victories with Hemmeler to win the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic title ... duo went 3-0 at the event and claimed the championship with an 8-5 victory against North Florida’s Caio Gomes and Yannick Zuern.
2013-14: Tied for first on the team in singles victories (32) and ACC singles wins (9) during his sophomore campaign … led the squad in overall winning percentage at .800 with a 32-8 record in singles … went 19-5 during the dual match season while seeing time primarily at the No. 5 spot in the lineup … notched a 9-2 mark during ACC play … clinched a 4-1 victory over No. 54 Oregon in the first round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend event … put together a seven-match win streak between Feb. 9 and March 23 that included three-set wins over Oklahoma’s Austin Siegel and Virginia’s Justin Shane … clinched wins over No. 25 Wake Forest and No. 47 Miami during ACC play … defeated Tennessee’s Andrew Dromsky, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, in the second round of the NCAA Team Championship … totaled a 14-8 record in doubles for the year, including an 8-4 dual match ledger and a 6-1 mark in conference matches … paired with Jason Tahir to go 8-3 at the No. 2 position … the duo put together a six-match win streak from March 30-April 18, highlighted by an 8-6 victory over Georgia Tech’s 79th-ranked pair of Nathan Rakitt and Cole Fiegel ... played to a team-best 13-3 singles record during the fall ... also posted a 6-4 mark in doubles ... captured first career singles title at the Duke Fab Four Invitational, winning the Black Bracket with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over VCU’s Michal Voscek ... claimed a second singles title at the Winthrop Invitational ... at the same tournament, paired with TJ Pura to advance to the doubles semifinals before play was shortened due to weather ... earned a spot on the ACC Academic Honor Roll and the ITA All-Academic list.
2012-13: Concluded his first season at Duke with a 19-6 overall record in singles and a 3-4 record in doubles … in the ACC, finished 2-0 in singles … went 9-0 throughout the dual season in singles, including a 6-0 mark from the No. 6 position … clinched three matches for Duke, including in the second round of the NCAA Championship tournament against UNCW … clinched first match of college career against No. 14 Tennessee from the No. 6 singles position … played to a 10-6 singles record in the fall … claimed first win over a ranked opponent in the singles quarterfinals of the blue bracket at the Duke Fab Four Invite against No. 43 Jamie Whiteford, 6-3, 6-0 … claimed first collegiate victory over Kentucky’s Juan Pablo-Murra, 2-6, 6-1, 6-0, at the Duke Fab Four Invite … defeated Wake Forest’s Jon Ho in the fifth place match of the A2 singles draw at the Wake Forest Fall Invite … fell in the singles semifinal of the blue bracket at the Duke Fab Four Invite to teammate Jason Tahir, 6-1, 6-2 … with Daniel McCall, posted a 3-4 doubles record throughout the fall … with McCall, claimed first doubles victory in the white consolation bracket over North Carolina’s tandem of James Coxe and Stuart Depaolo.
Prior to Duke: Rated the 10th best prospect by TennisRecruiting.net and ninth in the Tennis RPI rankings … ranked the No. 2 prospect from the state of New York and No. 3 in the Mid-Atlantic region … won five sectional championships from 2011-12 … champion of the 2011 and 2012 NYSPHSAA State Tournament with Cold Spring Harbor High School and was a finalist in the 2010 NYSPHSAA State Tournament … awarded the Nassau County Sportsmanship award in 2012 … compiled a perfect 56-0 record at the No. 1 singles spot for Cold Spring Harbor High School, during his junior and senior seasons … named Long Island Player of the Year by Newsday in 2010 and 2011.
