The cross country meet will begin with one lap around the track in Wallace Wade Stadium 15 minutes prior to kickoff. The 6K men's race is slated to get underway at approximately 6:45 p.m., followed by the 4K women's race at 6:47 p.m. All runners will start near the video scoreboard in Wallace Wade, complete nearly a full lap around the track and exit the stadium before heading to the Sally Meyerhoff Fitness Loop on the Al Buehler Trail, where the races will conclude.
"The chance for our runners to start in front of a large crowd minutes before kickoff is an exciting opportunity for them and also further brings together the diverse groups that make up the Durham community," Ogilvie said. "We look forward to a good competition with NCCU in a great atmosphere on the running trails that we share with them each and every day in training."
Fans in Wallace Wade will be updated on the team scores following the conclusion of the races. In addition, the two individual winners will be recognized on the video scoreboard during the third quarter of the football game.
"Our women's team is excited for the opportunity to compete in a home cross country race in front of a large crowd," Jermyn said. "It is going to be a fun event."
