DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men’s cross country team checks in at No. 14 according to the recent United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll released on Tuesday, Oct. 19, after capturing a first place team finish at the Panorama Farms Invitational Friday, Oct. 15. The Blue Devil women are ranked No. 12, following a win at the Blue Ridge Mountain Open on Friday.
The Blue Devil men won the Panorama Farms Invitational on Oct. 15, defeating seven other teams, including 17th-ranked Virginia. Bo Waggoner led Duke to the win by splitting up the top two runners from Virginia and grabbing a second place finish. At the Panorama Farms Invitational, Duke had five runners cross the line in the top-10 and 10 of its 14 runners finished in the top-25.
The Duke men moved to a perfect 30-0 on the season and 4-0 in the ACC and will look to remain undefeated when they travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass., for the ACC Championships on Oct. 30. The men’s 8K race is scheduled for 11 a.m. (EST).
The Duke women’s team fell to No. 12 in the recent poll, despite defeating 20 teams at the Blue Ridge Mountain Open. The Blue Devil women swept the podium with Carly Seymour grabbing first, Madeline Morgan finishing second and Juliet Bottorff taking third. The Duke women placed a total of six runners in the top-10 and eight in the top-25 at the Blue Ridge, and extended their record to 47-3 on the season and 5-0 against ACC opponents.
The Blue Devil women look to remain undefeated in the ACC when they travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Oct. 30, for the ACC Championships. The women’s 6K race is scheduled for 10 a.m. (EST).
