BRONX, N.Y. – The Duke men’s cross country team grabbed its third consecutive IC4A Division I Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Van Courtlandt Park. The three consecutive IC4A Championships marks the longest streak in program history.
A total of 39 teams competed in the 8K championship race with Duke finishing in first place with 44 points. Duquesne University grabbed second place with 141 points, and Harvard grabbed third with 147 points.
Five Blue Devils earned All-East honors on the day, led by sophomore Mike Moverman who finished third with a time of 25:03.5. Freshman Brian Atkinson took sixth place with a time of 25:10.7, and teammates Domenick DeMatteo and Clint McKelvey rounded out the top-10 finishing in eighth and tenth place, respectively. Dominick Robinson rounded out the All-East honors for Duke, crossing the line in 17th-place.
Duke moved to 88-5 and 18-4 in the ACC this season with the win.
The Blue Devils will finish the 2010 season on Monday, Nov. 22, when they compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. The women will toe the line first for the 6K race at 12:08 p.m. (EST), and the men’s 10K race will start at 12:48 p.m. (EST).
