DURHAM N.C.- The Duke cross country teams are preparing for the ACC Championships on Saturday, October 29th, in Clemson, S.C. recently sat down with women's team member, Amanda Truelove, to learn more about the Barrie, Ontario native. What TV shows do you keep up with?
Amanda Truelove: "Modern Family" is probably my favorite TV show right now. Do you have any embarrassing music on your iPod?
AT: Justin Bieber [laughs]. What is your favorite movie?
AT: "Remember the Titans". Do you have any superstitions or pre-race rituals?
AT: I used to have a lot in high school, like going to bed early and having my parents make me a pasta dinner and having oatmeal for breakfast. It's kind of different now being at school. I feel like I always have lucky socks or stuff like that. What is on your bucket list?
AT: Probably to run a marathon. What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
AT: Salmon. Can you cook? If so, what are you good at making?
AT: I like to bake more, so baking cookies or brownies. What has been your favorite class at Duke?
AT: Dr. Greg Dale's Performance Enhancement class. It's a sport psychology class. What has been your toughest class at Duke?
AT: Math 32. Where do you like to study on campus?
AT: Bella Union, in McClendon Tower. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
AT: Hopefully with a job, a family and definitely still running. Who has had the most impact on your life?
AT: My whole family. My parents and my sister have been really supportive of everything and they encourage me in everything that I do. Who would you trade places with for a day?
AT: Jenny Barringer. She's a really good runner. She just won the world championship in the 1,500m. Who is your dream date?
AT: Andrew Wheating. What is your worst habit?
AT: Popping my gum. I wish I knew how to ______.
AT: Speak another language. Who would you want to play you in a movie?
AT: Anne Hathaway. What is your favorite restaurant in Durham?
AT: Watt's Grocery. What is the biggest obstacle you've had to overcome athletically?
AT: Definitely injuries. Freshman year I was out the whole year because of injuries, and same with junior year. Hopefully this year I'll be injury-free. Describe Coach Jermyn in one word.
AT: Patient.
