GoDuke.com: What TV shows do you keep up with?
Brendon Pierson: For sure "The Sopranos", number one choice. Anything mafia-related, I'm a big fan of. I also watch a lot of "Seinfeld". I don't have cable, so I'll just have all the seasons and watch old episodes.
GoDuke.com: Do you have any embarrassing music on your iPod?
BP: Not on my iPod because my iPod can't hold that much music [laughs]. On my computer, though, I've got some Kelly Clarkson.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite movie?
BP: "The Godfather". The first one, hands down. The second one is pretty good. I still haven't seen the third. I don't think anyone's seen the third [laughs].
GoDuke.com: Do you have any superstitions or pre-race rituals?
BP: I don't as much anymore. I've broken a lot of habits. I usually eat the same thing - a peanut butter & jelly sandwich and a Chewy bar.
GoDuke.com: What is on your bucket list?
BP: I really want to go see the Alps.
GoDuke.com: What is the biggest obstacle you've had to overcome athletically?
BP: Learning how to have fun - when it's not so much fun what you're doing, learning how to still get enjoyment out of something.
GoDuke.com: What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
BP: My grandmother's baked ziti, easy decision.
GoDuke.com: Can you cook? If so, what are you good at making?
BP: I can definitely cook. I spent a summer in Sicily working on farms, and they taught me how to cook so I've learned all the traditional Sicilian methods. I make my own pasta and pasta sauce fairly often. My go-to meal is pasta.
GoDuke.com: What has been your favorite class at Duke?
BP: It's a close call between two of them. I was in a sustainable design and construction class last semester, which was a lot of fun. And then I'm in a green futures class right now, which is in the Nicholas School and it's been a great experience.
GoDuke.com: What has been your toughest class at Duke?
BP: I took Math 32 as a freshman and it was horrible.

BP: I'd like to start my own business, something to do with sustainability or green technology. I'd definitely like to be a business-owner.
GoDuke.com: Who has had the most impact on your life?
BP: My parents and all the track coaches that I've had have been really influential just because I spend so much time with them. My parents obviously influence me a lot, but my coaches have always taught me how to have good character.
GoDuke.com: Describe Coach Ogilvie in one word.
BP: That's hard to do in one word [laughs]. Voracious.
GoDuke.com: Who would you trade places with for a day?

GoDuke.com: Who is your dream date?
BP: Steph Davis. She's a professional rock climber who's a very cool person.
GoDuke.com: What is your worst habit?
BP: When I'm tying my shoes, I do this weird thing but I don't realize I'm doing it. I chew the side of the mouth. It's really weird, and I never realized it until someone told me. I can't tie my shoes unless I'm doing this weird thing.
GoDuke.com: What was your first car?
BP: A Chevy Suburban, 2002. Still have it.
GoDuke.com: I wish I knew how to ______.
BP: I've always wanted to learn how to sky dive in those wing suits, where they do base jumping with those wing suits and go cruising around. That looks like so much fun. I'm not really sure how you get into that, though.
GoDuke.com: Who would you want to play you in a movie?
BP: I'm a big Christian Bale fan, so he can go for it.
GoDuke.com: Do you have an iPhone, Blackberry, Droid or other?
BP: Just got an iPhone. I had a terrible phone for four years, and I honestly feel like my grandparents when they discovered the internet. It's been an amazing experience getting the new iPhone.

BP: Easy answer. My teammate, Andrew Brodeur.
