The Blue Devils' returning points and assists leader in 2013, Maurer totaled a team-high 11 points (5g, 6a) in wins over Virginia Tech and Presbyterian last weekend. The Setauket, N.Y., native tied a program single-game record with five assists against the Hokies, in addition to recording a hat trick. Maurer also tallied two goals and an assist Sunday against Presbyterian to bring her shooting percentage to .556 after two games. In addition, the first weekend of the 2013 campaign saw Maurer move into 18th on Duke's all-time chart for career assists (30) and 31st on the all-time points list (60).
Moise leads the Duke defense through the first two contests of the season with five caused turnovers, including a career-high four in the season opener against Virginia Tech Friday evening in Durham. The sophomore from Princeton, N.J., also helped the defensive unit collect just the second shutout in program history in a 23-0 victory over the Blue Hose.
The weekly honor is the second of Moise's career and the first for Maurer.
Duke continues its four-game homestand Friday, Feb. 15 in a 7 p.m. meeting with Richmond at Koskinen Stadium.
