DURHAM, N.C. – Former Blue Devil standout Kate Kaiser Kasabula was recently inducted into the U.S. Lacrosse Greater Baltimore Chapter Hall of Fame. The 2003 Duke graduate was one of 10 members of the Class of 2014 honored in Baltimore earlier this month.

A four-time All-American midfielder for the Blue Devils, Kasabula was tabbed the ACC Rookie of the Year in 1999 and went on to lead Duke in scoring her sophomore and junior seasons. As a junior in 2001, she was selected a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy, awarded annually to the nation’s top men’s and women’s lacrosse player. Kasabula missed the entire 2002 season after suffering a torn ACL, but returned as a redshirt senior in 2003 to score 38 goals and guide the squad to a 13-5 record.

Kasabula is the all-time program leader in ground balls (210) and caused turnovers (142) and ranks seventh in goals (154) and 11th in points (174). She started all 72 contests over her four seasons, garnering All-ACC and all-region accolades on three occasions, as well as NCAA All-Tournament Team recognition twice. During her four seasons, Kasabula guided the Blue Devils to a 52-20 ledger, the program’s first trip to the NCAA semifinals in 1999 and two appearances in the NCAA quarterfinals.

She also was a member of the U.S. women’s national team for the 2005 IFWLA World Cup, helping the squad reach the title match.

An economics major at Duke, Kasabula also earned a certificate in Markets and Management Studies and went on to receive her MBA at Loyola College (Md.). The Cockeysville, Md., native currently works for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens as the Senior Manager of Client Services within the Corporate Sales Department.

"It was an honor to present Kate for induction into the Baltimore Lacrosse Hall of Fame,” said Duke women’s lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel. “It is not an accident that Kate's arrival at Duke coincided with our program’s first appearance in the NCAA final four in 1999. Not only was she was a game-changer on the field, she was an excellent student and leader, and today she continues to be an outstanding representative of Duke lacrosse and Duke University in her role with the Baltimore Ravens organization."
