DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women’s lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel welcomed the addition of 11 players to the Blue Devil program this fall, with 10 freshmen and one transfer student joining the squad for the 2014 campaign.

Prior to Duke: Cammerzell completed her prep career at St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, Del., earning second team all-state and first team all-conference recognition as a junior and senior. She totaled 172 goals over her four years and recorded 97 points (73g, 24a) her senior season. Cammerzell also topped the 70-goal mark as a junior.

What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
HC: Freshman year, starting in the state semi-final game, and scoring three goals.

When did you start playing lacrosse?
HC: Third grade, for a rec program.

Why did you choose Duke?
HC: Academics, community spirit.

What are your goals for your collegiate career?
HC: Be a fundamental member of the team on and off the field.

Who has had the biggest impact on your life?
HC: My family. They each influence me in dramatically different but beneficial ways.

Pre-game ritual/superstition: Watch a movie if I get really nervous and anxious before. If I play badly, I never wear the same hair style I did that day.
What do you plan to major in? International Comparative Studies
If you were to play another sport, what would it be? Skiing, but I have always wanted to try ice hockey.
Hidden talent: I started a hair cutting business to get my high school class out of debt.
Best advice you’ve received: “Treat others the way you would want to be treated.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? A CIA analyst stationed in the Middle East.
