DURHAM, N.C. – Tenth-ranked Duke begins a three-game homestand Thursday, March 13 against Davidson. The non-conference contest is set for 6 p.m. at Koskinen Stadium. Fans can receive free admission to the game by bringing an item to donate to the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. A complete list of items in need can be found at ronaldhousedurham.org.

Davidson Series History
Thursday’s contest marks the 12th all-time meeting between Duke and Davidson with the Blue Devils leading the series, 11-0 ... Duke is 5-0 all-time when facing the Wildcats at home in Koskinen Stadium ... Duke head coach Kerstin Kimel guided Davidson to a 4-8 record in its inaugural season in 1994 prior to establishing the Blue Devil program in 1996.

Last Time We Met
Seven different Blue Devils found the back of the net as Duke topped Davidson by a 14-6 score Apr. 17, 2013 at the Wildcats’ Richardson Stadium ... Kerrin Maurer paced the attack with five points (2g, 3a) and Taylor Trimble tallied her third hat trick of the season ... Maddy Morrissey won a career-high six draw controls and Taylor Virden added four to help Duke win the category by a 15-6 margin ... Goalkeeper Kelsey Duryea totaled nine saves and two ground balls while defender Gabby Moise notched two caused turnovers. 

Duke vs. the Big South
The Blue Devils are 15-0 all-time against teams from the Big South conference ... Duke has faced Davidson more than any other Big South institution ... The Blue Devils are also slated to visit Big South member High Point Apr. 2.

Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson enters Thursday’s contest with a 1-3 ledger after posting a 22-4 victory over Kennesaw State Saturday at home ... Emily Cooke has totaled 15 points (3g, 12a) over the Wildcat’s first four games while Emma Sissman has tallied a team-high nine goals ... Sissman also averages 6.00 draw controls per game to rank seventh in the country ... Goalkeeper Katy Boyd owns a 9.25 goals against average and ranks among the top 25 netminders nationally with a .493 save percentage ... As a team, Davidson leads the Big South in scoring defense (9.25) and scoring margin (1.75).

Scouting the Blue Devils
Duke (4-3, 1-1 ACC) picked up its first ACC win of the spring in a 14-6 victory at Virginia Tech Sunday ... The Blue Devils also suffered a narrow 11-10 setback to Georgetown midweek and fell four spots to No. 10 in this week’s IWLCA rankings ... Junior attacker Kerrin Maurer guides the offense with 23 goals and 12 assists while senior Sydney Peterson and sophomore Kelci Smesko are tied for second on the team with 16 points each ... Returning All-American defender Taylor Virden leads the way in draw controls (24) and caused turnovers (9) ... Sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Duryea, a second team All-America selection last spring, owns a 10.18 goals against average and a .461 save percentage in the net ... Duke’s balanced attack is outscoring opponents by a 95-71 margin to start the season.

Last Time Out
Goalkeeper Kelsey Duryea posted 13 saves and the Duke defense held Virginia Tech to a season-low scoring output Sunday in a 14-6 victory in Blacksburg ... Seven different Blue Devils registered goals on the day with junior Kerrin Maurer and senior Sydney Peterson each recording hat tricks ... Duke outshot the Hokies by a 31-24 margin and won the draw controls category 14-8, with Maurer and senior Taylor Virden winning four draws apiece ... Duryea had two caused turnovers and a career-high five ground balls to go with the 13 saves ... The defense held Virginia Tech to just one goal in the first half.

Scheduling the Best
Duke’s 2014 slate currently features eight teams ranked in the top 20 of the latest IWLCA Coaches Poll ... The Blue Devils began a tough stretch in late February, falling short against top-five foes Northwestern (Feb. 22) and Maryland (March 1) before suffering a one-goal setback to No. 14 Georgetown last week.

Balanced Attack
Fifteen different Blue Devils have scored a goal and 13 players have notched at least one assist this season ... Twelve Blue Devils have recorded multiple-goal games, led by junior Kerrin Maurer, who owns three hat tricks ... In a 25-4 season-opening victory over Elon Feb. 7, 14 different Duke players found the back of the net with Maurer tallying a career-high six markers.

Maurer Quarterbacking the Offense
Junior attacker Kerrin Maurer is once again one of the Blue Devils’ most dependable playmakers up front ... She leads the team this spring in points (35), goals (23) and assists (12) and ranks second in draw controls (17) ... The Setauket, N.Y., native is third in the ACC and 12th nationally in points per game with a 5.00 average ... Maurer is also tied for third in the conference in scoring at 3.29 goals per game.

Virden Quick on the Draw
Duke is 2-1 this spring when winning the draw controls category ... Senior defender Taylor Virden has been scrappy on the wings, leading the team with 24 draw controls ... She ranks seventh in the ACC in draws with an average of 3.43 per contest ... Virden won a career-high six draws last season against Vanderbilt (March 2, 2013) and has notched five draw controls on two occasions this year ... The Ellicott City, Md., native ranks sixth on Duke’s all-time list for career draw controls with 146 over her four seasons.

Virden, Duryea Among ACC Leaders
Returning IWLCA All-Americans Taylor Virden and Kelsey Duryea continue to anchor the defense in 2014 ... Duryea is tied for fith in the conference in ground balls per game (2.57) while Virden is ninth (2.14) ... Duryea is second among ACC goalkeepers with 8.43 saves per game while her 59 saves rank her sixth in the nation ... Virden is ninth in the league in caused turnovers per game (1.29).

Devilish on Defense
Duke’s defensive unit has held opponents without a goal for 15 minutes or more six times this season ... The longest scoreless streak of the year came last weekend in a 14-6 win over ACC opponent Virgnia Tech.

Junior Kerrin Maurer has tallied at least one point in a career-high 13 consecutive games dating back to last season ... The Setauket, N.Y., native has scored multiple goals in all seven games this spring and recorded multiple assists four times ... Sophomore Kelci Smesko has tallied a point in each of the last eight contests while junior Brigid Smith has recorded a point in a career-best seven consecutive outings.

Maurer, Virden Moving Up Career Lists
Senior defender Taylor Virden and junior attacker Kerrin Maurer provide veteran experience at both ends of the field ... Maurer paces the Blue Devils in points, goals and assists this season and is currently tied for sixth all-time in career assists (71) and ranks 15th in program history in career points (154) ... Maurer reached the 100-point barrier and topped the 50-assist milestone as a sophomore last season ... Virden leads the team in draw controls and caused turnovers in 2014 and ranks sixth all-time in career draw controls with 146 ... She is also approaching the 100-ground ball mark for her career with 96 over four seasons.

Duryea Tops 200-Save Mark
Sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Duryea, a second team IWLCA All-American last year, reached the 200-save plateau Sunday against Virginia Tech ... The netminder from Beverly, Mass., has 59 saves this season and 203 for her career ... She currently ranks sixth on Duke’s all-time saves chart and joins Shannon Chaney (1997-00) and Meg Huether (2003-06) as the only goalkeepers in program history to top the 200 career goals mark in their second season.

Reaching the Perfect 10
Since 2010, the Blue Devils are 58-9 when scoring at least 10 goals in a game ... Duke is 1-18 in that span when held to fewer than 10 scores ... This season, the squad has reached the 10-goal mark in all seven games while going 4-3 in those contests.
