DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women’s lacrosse junior Taylor Trimble has been added to the 2014 Tewaaraton Award Watch List presented by Panama Jack, joining teammates Kelsey Duryea, Kerrin Maurer and Taylor Virden among this year’s Tewaaraton Award hopefuls.

A midfielder from Rosemont, Pa., Trimble ranks second on the team in goals (25), third in draw controls (25) and fourth in points (31) through 13 games this season. She is also tied for second on the squad in hat tricks with five on the spring. Trimble is among the top-18 players in the ACC in draw controls with an average of 1.92 per contest.

An IWLCA All-South Region second team and All-ACC selection last spring, Trimble surpassed the 100-point mark for her career this season against Syracuse (March 29) to become the 21st player in program history to achieve the milestone. She has totaled 90 goals and 13 assists for 103 total points in her three years at Duke and has also amassed 90 draw controls in that time. Trimble currently ranks 16th on Duke’s all-time list for career draw controls and is also tied for 20th in career goals.

The Tewaaraton Award Watch List includes the top players across all three divisions of men’s and women’s collegiate lacrosse and highlights the early contenders for the 2014 Tewaaraton Award. Duke has had at least two players named to the list each season since the award’s inception in 2001 with Katie Chrest earning the prestigious honor following the 2005 campaign.

The seventh-ranked Blue Devils face No. 11 Notre Dame Friday, Apr. 11 at 7 p.m. in South Bend, with the contest slated to be broadcast on ESPN3.
