Duke Earns No. 4 Seed in ACC Championship

DURHAM, N.C. – The matchups have been set for the 2014 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be hosted by Boston College Apr. 24-27 at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Duke earned the fourth seed in the tournament for the second consecutive year and will face No. 5 seed Virginia Thursday, Apr. 24 at 1 p.m.

The winner of the game between Duke and the Cavaliers will advance to the championship semifinals to take on the winner of top-seeded Maryland and eighth-seeded Virginia Tech Friday, Apr. 25 at 1 p.m. in Chestnut Hill.

The winners of Friday’s semifinals will move on to the championship contest Sunday, Apr. 27 at 1 p.m. The first two games of the quarterfinals as well as Friday’s semifinals and Sunday’s championship game will be broadcast by the league’s Regional Sports Networks, while the ACC Digital Network will air the 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. quarterfinal games.

Eighth-ranked Duke enters the ACC Championship with an overall record of 9-6 and a 3-4 mark in conference play after upending No. 3 North Carolina Wednesday, 7-6, in overtime. The Blue Devils topped Virginia by a 16-11 score in the regular season meeting in Durham March 22. The two teams also met in the quarterfinals of last year’s tournament, with the Cavaliers collecting a 10-7 victory.
