SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The ninth-ranked Duke women’s lacrosse team arrived in South Bend Wednesday, May 7 and spent Thursday making final preparations for the opening round of the 2014 NCAA Championship. Blue Devil Network was there to capture some of the sights and sounds as head coach Kerstin Kimel’s squad prepared for Friday’s first round contest against Stanford at Notre Dame’s Arlotta Stadium.
The Blue Devils (9-7) earned the program’s 17th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship and own an all-time record of 12-3 in the first round of the tournament.
Duke will face Stanford (14-4) for the first time since 2008 in Friday’s first round. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m. at Arlotta Stadium. The contest will also be streamed live online.
