DURHAM, N.C.—As the Major League Soccer embarks upon the second half of the season, it is time to update everyone on how all of the former Blue Devils are faring this year. Duke has a selection of players peppered throughout the league, including one coaching on the sidelines and another in the front office.

Highlighting the group is the Real Salt Lake trio of Garth Lagerway, Jason Kreis and Cole Grossman sitting atop the Western Conference standings with an 11-7-4 record for 37 points. Lagerway is the RSL General Manager, while Kreis in his seventh season as the head coach, while Grossman is in his first season as a player with the club.

Darrius Barnes – D – New England Revolution

·         Played in five games with four starts and has one assist

·         Team currently in fifth place in the Eastern Conference and battling for a playoff spot

·         Revolution has allowed a league-low 19 goals

Cole Grossman – M – Real Salt Lake

·         Played and started one game for the Western Conference leaders


Jay Heaps – New England Revolution Head Coach

·         Heaps has the Revolution in playoff contention with an 8-7-6 overall record

·         Team has allowed a league-low 19 goals

·         Team’s eight wins are just one shy of the squad’s total in all of 2012


Jason Kreis – Real Salt Lake Head coach

·         Has led RSL to an 11-7-4 overall record for first place in the Western Conference

·         Team has scored a league-best 36 goals and has a three-point edge on the Colorado Rapids

·         Captured his 100th career victory with a US Open Cup victory Jun 26 against the Carolina Railhawks


Michael Videira  - M – Chicago Fire

·         Played in two games including one start

·         Fire currently sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and five points out of the final playoff spot

Andrew Wenger – F – Montreal Impact

·         Played in 16 games, including five starts for the Impact

·         Owns one goal and three assists

·         Impact currently sit in third place with a 10-5-5 record for 35 points
