With the 2013 men’s soccer season just five days away, GoDuke.com is catching up with all of the newcomers to learn a little bit more about them. First up was freshman midfielder Seo-In Kim, who registered a goalazo against Old Dominion in the final exhibition game this past Friday.
GoDuke.com: Who is your favorite player to watch of all time?
Seo-In Kim: Ronaldinho. Because he has such creativity and when he goes out there it doesn’t look like he’s doing a job, he looks like he’s having so much fun so I admire that.
What is your most memorable World Cup moment?
Definitely has to be 2002 when the World Cup was hosted in Korea. That is my home country and when they made it to the semifinals that was something incredible for my country.
What is your favorite place soccer has taken you?
My favorite has to be Italy when I went my freshman year [of high school]. I went for an international tournament. It was a beautiful place and beautiful soccer. I loved it.
Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
No superstitions. I just try to relax, but nothing routine like.
What sport would you play if you didn’t play soccer?
It would have to be basketball, but I’m obviously too short for that. So I think I put that away at a young age.
What is your favorite movie?
I really like funny movies. 21-Jump Street, 21 and Over. Anything that makes me laugh.
Who is your favorite comedic actor?
I don’t know. I’ll go with Kevin Hart.
What was the last book you read?
It was a soccer book. It was something on Cristiano Ronaldo , his biography. Nothing school related, but it’s a book.
What was the last music album you downloaded?
One of my favorite rappers, Machine Gun Kelly. I download his mixtape about a month ago.
Chocolate or vanilla?
What is your favorite meal?
Probably has to be sushi. I really like salmon. I’m not really a big fan of the rolls, just the original nigris. I’ve gone to Vine right by East Campus. A lot of the older guys are saying Sushi Love is a place to hit.
