DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke men’s soccer team spent one of its final days prior to opening preseason camp visiting young kids at Camp High Hopes in nearby Cary. The visit was a reward for the kids who behaved well since the Blue Devils were last at the camp in June.

Sean Davis, Nat Eggleton, Wilson Fisher, Chase Keesling, Ryan Thompson and Matt Slotnick all spent time with the kids. The Blue Devils helped the youngsters with their soccer skills and played games with them and reinforced the importance of hard work and good behavior.

"Connecting with the community is very important to us," Davis said. "It's a privilege to work with these kids as their happiness and energy is contagious. Our experiences with Camp High Hopes this summer were both humbling and rewarding and we look forward to working with them in the future."

Camp High Hopes is nine-week summer day camp sponsored by the YMCA for kids ranging from kindergarten through 10th grade. The camp is fully subsidized by the We Build the Campaign and allows for children who may not be able to afford summer camps to spend time doing various activities during the summer.
