DURHAM, N.C.-Duke University senior Cole Grossman has been invited to the 2011 adidas MLS Player Combine, Major League Soccer announced on Thursday, Dec. 9. Grossman is one of 54 college seniors to earn an invitation to the annual event that leads up to the Major League Soccer SuperDraft in January.

Grossman is one of 11 representatives from the ACC and will represent the Blue Devils at the five-day event from Jan. 7-11 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. will have full coverage of the combine games and profiles of many of the players. 

Duke's leader in the midfield, Grossman garnered All-ACC first team recognition in 2010 for the first time after taking home second team honors in 2009.  He finished his senior season ranked second on the team in scoring with 28 points off of 10 goals and eight assists.

A native of St. Louis, Mo.,  Grossman had a hand in 18 of Duke's 34 goals in 2010 and netted two game-winning goals, including the winning goal in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  As a junior Grossman was voted to the NSCAA All-South Region second team after posting eight goals and 10 assists.

The Blue Devils finished the 2010 season with a 10-6-4 overall record, advancing to the NCAA Tournament second round for the second straight year. In Grossman's four seasons at Duke, the Blue Devils compiled a 45-29-7 overall record, garnered four berths in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the NCAA round of 16 in 2009. Grossman completed his career with 25 goals and 24 assists for 74 points in 70 games played.
