DURHAM, N.C.-Duke University freshman Nick Palodichuk was named to the Men' s College Soccer Team of the Week after registering three goals in a 1-0-1 week for the Blue Devils. The weekly honor is the first for Palodichuk and marks the third straight week Duke has had a player on the team.

Palodichuk tallied three goals, including a game-winner, to lead Duke to a 4-1 victory over Presbyterian and a 2-2 tie at No. 5 North Carolina. The native of Battleground, Wash., notched Duke's second and fourth goals to push the Blue Devils past the Blue Hose in a midweek matchup. The two goals marked a career high for the rookie forward.

Three days later, Palodichuk netted the first goal of the game as Duke battled to a 2-2 draw at fifth-ranked North Carolina. The goal stopped North Carolina's shutout streak at 436:24. The goal was the first the Tar Heels had allowed since the first half on September 13 against James Madison. Duke's two goals against North Carolina were the most it has given up this season to a team.

Palodichuk currently leads all freshmen in the ACC in goals and points with six and 14, respectively, and ranks sixth and eighth among all players in the ACC in the respective categories. Nationally, he is tied for first among all freshmen in goals and points.

Duke, unbeaten in its previous five games, takes its streak to Davidson College on October 4 at 7 p.m. The Blue Devils continue their ACC schedule on Oct. 7, hosting NC State at 7 p.m.
