DURHAM, N.C.—With just five days remaining until the first Duke men’s soccer practice, College Soccer News has released its 2013 recruiting class rankings. College Soccer News labels this group of five newcomers to the program 22nd nationally.

Headlining the class is Canadian striker Brody Huitema. A member of the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy squad, Huitema tallied 30 goals in 29 games for the Whitecaps this past season. In his two seasons with the club, the 6-1 forward finished with 53 goals in 52 games.

Joining Huitema are transfer goalkeeper Alex Long of South Carolina, Jared Golestani of the NJSA Academy team, Jimmy Doll from DC United Academy and Seo-In Kim from Sporting KC Academy. Kim is tabbed as the No. 84 recruit by TopDrawerSoccer.com and No. 2 out of the Heartland region.

Long started 33 games in goal for the Gamecocks, registering a 1.65 goals against average and a .638 save percentage with seven shutouts. Golestani starred for the Hun School and played in 22 games with 12 starts for NJSA Academy this past season. Doll started 22 of 25 games for DC United, helping the club to the USSDA Playoffs with a third-place finish in the Atlantic Division.

The Blue Devils officially report to campus Aug. 13 and will hold their first practice the following morning. Duke will host George Washington in an exhibition game Aug. 18 at 1 p.m. The game is free and open to the public.
