About the Blue Devils
Duke defeated Pittsburgh 3-0 over the weekend to extend its unbeaten streak to seven games ... The Blue Devils haven’t lost since Oct. 1 and are looking for their third conference victory Friday night at Clemson ... A win would put Duke into the ACC Tournament, while a tie leaves a spot in the postseason uncertain ... Brody Huitema and Sean Davis headline the offense with 15 points apiece from six goals and three assists ... Nick Palodichuk has chipped in four goals and four assists for 12 points ... The Tigers have allowed just 16 goals all season and own eight shutouts ... In goal, Andrew Tarbell has played the majority of minutes ... He owns a 1.04 goals against average and a .684 save percentage in his 11 starts ... Clemson is 8-3-0 at home this season and 3-2-0 versus ACC foes at Riggs Field.
 
Last Time We Met
Riley Wolfe scored in the 68th minute and goalkeeper James Belshaw finished a penalty kick two minutes later to lift Duke to a 2-0 win at home over Clemson ... Both squads had nine shots apiece and Belshaw added six saves in the victory.
 
From the Ivy League to the ACC
Duke head coach John Kerr and Clemson boss Mike Noonan’s paths have crossed 14 other times as the pair coached against each other for a number of years in the Ivy League ... Noonan, head coach at Brown from 1995-2009, is 7-5-1 all-time against Kerr, who led Harvard from 1999-2007 ... Kerr holds the edge in the ACC with a 2-1-1 mark over Noonan.
 
Behind The Streak
Duke takes its seven-game unbeaten streak into Clemson, S.C. Friday night ... The streak ties the 2006 and 2011 squads for the longest unbeaten stretch since the 2004 team opened the year 11-0 ... Defensively, Duke has been outstanding the past seven games in allowing just three goals for a 0.38 goals against average, compared to a 1.40 goals against average in the first 10 games of the year ... The Blue Devils have five shutouts during the stretch ... Offensively, Sean Davis and Nick Palodichuk have hit their stride ... Davis has four goals, while Palodichuk has contributed two scores and four assists for eight points ... In the first 10 games of the year the junior pair had just 11 points combined - five fewer than the past seven games overall.
 
Comeback Kids
Duke has played well from behind this season ... Most recently, the Blue Devils rallied from two goals down to score twice in 44 seconds to tie No. 15 Wake Forest 2-2 ... Duke In the ACC Under Kerr
The Blue Devils are 19-19-10 in ACC regular season games since 2008 ... Duke captured four wins in both 2009 and 2011 and have three in the other three seasons ... The Blue Devils have fared the best against Virginia Tech (5-0-1) and Clemson (3-1-1) since 2008.
 
Long Playing Well
Redshirt senior goalkeeper Alex Long has been impressive lately with a combined 30 saves, including 10 against Virginia, and a 0.38 goals against average during the seven-game unbeaten streak ... Long’s 10 saves against the Cavaliers were a career-high and were the most by a Blue Devil goalkeeper since James Belshaw had 15 against Louisville Sept. 3, 2010.

He has four goals in the previous five games, two of which came from long range ... In his previous two seasons combined, the Holmdel, N.J., native amassed one goal and four assists for six points, which are nine fewer than his 15 so far this season.
 
Duke Dangerous On Set Pieces
With Sean Davis able to strike free kicks from long range and the aerial game of Sebastien Ibeagha, Brody Huitema and Nat Eggleston in the penalty area, Duke is dangerous on set pieces ... Davis has scored on three free kicks from outside the 18-yard box and added three more penalty kicks ... Ibeagha netted one goal on a corner kick and another off of a Davis free kick, while Huitema has headed in three corner kicks ... Will Donovan and Nick Palodichuk are the latest Blue Devils to score on corner kicks, bring the total to six for the year ...
