2013-14: Saw a successful senior campaign as a pole vault specialist…opened the indoor season with a school record clearance of 17-5.75 (5.33) at the Virginia Tech Invitational (1/18), en route to a second-place finish…qualified for the ACC Indoor Championships (3/1), placing seventh with a mark of 16-6.75 (5.05)…Outdoors, highest clearance of the season, 16-10.75 (5.15), came in the form of a fourth-place finish at the ACC Outdoor Championships (4/19)…saw four second-place finishes in the spring, clearing 16-7.50 (5.07) at the Wolfpack Last Chance meet (5/16), 16-4.75 (5.00) at the Joe Hilton Invitational (4/12), 16-0.75 (4.87) at the Carolina Relays (3/22) and 15-11.75 (4.87) at the VertKlasse Meeting (4/5)..qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round meet (5/31), placing 27th overall.
2012-13: Indoors, finished fourth in the men’s pole vault at the 2013 ACC Indoor Championships while breaking the school record with a personal best clearance of 17-5 (5.31)…earned first place finishes at the JDL Fast Track Kickoff (12/2), Dick Taylor Invitational (1/18) and the Virginia Tech Challenge (2/16)…garnered All-ACC Indoor Academic honors for the second time in his career…Outdoors, qualified for the NCAA East First Round with a personal best mark of 17-1 (5.21) to finish 11th at the Texas Relays…sits second on Duke’s all-time list…finished fourth at the ACC Outdoor Championships with his best clearance of the day measuring 16-0.75 (4.90)…earned first place finishes at the Joe Hilton Invitational (4/13) and the Duke Twilight (5/5).
2011-12: Indoors, broke the school record in the pole vault at the Virginia Tech qualifier, placing fourth with a clearance of 17-2.25...placed fifth at the ACC indoor championships by clearing 16-10.75 (5.15)...outdoors, moved to second on Duke's all-time list by clearing 17-0.00 at the IC4A Championships to place second...finished fifth at the ACC Outdoor Championships and qualified for the NCAA First Round...named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2010-11: Had an outdoor season best of 15-7 at the Tiger Track Classic...finished 11th at Indoor ACCs with a vault of 15-1.75.
Prior to Duke: Lettered four years at Governor Livingston...2009 first team all-state for both indoor and outdoor track and field...member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society and French Honor Society...National Hispanic Scholar...served on the student council.
Personal: Son of Emilia and Rafael Amezquita...born Sept. 10, 1992...has one younger sister, Amanda...majoring in mechanical engineering.
