Duke (5-10) is coming off a pair of tough losses to Rider and Drexel Saturday as it looks to continue is dominant stretch against Gardner-Webb. The Blue Devils are 24-1-1 all-time against the Bulldogs and last to Gardner-Webb in 1998.

The Bulldogs come to Durham with a 6-12 overall record and a 2-3 mark in the Southern Conference. Gardner-Webb most recently fell to Campbell 29-9 and owns wins over recent victories over George Mason and Davidson.

The trio of Connor Bass, Marcus Cain and Conner Hartmann enters the dual on a three-match win streak. Bass and Hartmann both posted ranked victories over the weekend, while Cain’s unbeaten stretch is his longest of the season.

At 149 pounds, Bass is 11-10 overall and 5-5 in duals. The rookie picked up his first career ranked win at Rider as he pinned No. 20 Curt Delia in the second period. Hartmann, the ACC Wrestler of the Week, climbed back into the Amateur Wrestling News top 20 at No. 19 following his triple overtime win over No. 14 Brandon Palik of Drexel. Hartmann is 15-7 overall and 10-5 in duals.

Cain, anchoring the lineup at 165, hit his stride recently as he outscored his opponents 9-1 in the past three bouts. The redshirt sophomore posted consecutive 3-0 shutouts and added a 3-1 win at Drexel to move to 9-11 on the year.

Duke and Gardner-Webb share four common opponents this season. Both squads lost to Virginia and Eastern Michigan and defeated VMI, while Duke defeated Appalachian State.

Freshman Austin Trott headlines the Gardner-Webb lineup at 165 pounds with a 23-3 record. A winner of 10 straight, Trott is ranked 19th in the AWN rankings. Trott and Cain previously met at the Hokie Open with the Bulldog rookie winning convincingly by technical fall.

At 141 pounds, Ryan Mosley is 10-12 overall and is joined by heavyweight Justin Kozera (11-12) and Robbie Golde (13-11) as other double-digit winners in the Bulldogs’ starting lineup.

The Blue Devils resume their ACC schedule Feb. 8 at Maryland at 7 p.m.  The match will be streamed live on both and
