The senior from Bayonne, N.J., got a takedown in the first period against Delaney to take a quick 2-0 lead. Dudziak had another takedown in the second period and got two near-fall points in the third period to close out Delaney, 6-0.
"Konrad [Dudziak] looked great today," head coach Clar Anderson said. "He got an early takedown and controlled a lot of the match. It was a great first round win for him and a good way to start the tournament."
Dudziak will face Tucker Lane of Nebraska tonight in the second round. Lane is a redshirt sophomore and holds a 23-10 record this season. Lane placed third at the Big 12 Championships and beat John Danilkowicz of Virginia, 2-1, in the first round.
"[Dudziak] has never faced Tucker [Lane], but we watched his match and we have seen some film on him," Anderson said. "Obviously he's a talented wrestler if he's gotten to nationals and it will be another exciting match."
