DURHAM, N.C.-Duke University redshirt freshman Bret Klopp was named the Ronald McDonald House Duke Student-Athlete of the Week after posting a perfect week in two wrestling competitions. Klopp went 4-0 overall with three of the wins coming by fall.

Klopp started the week with his first ACC victory of the year as he pinned NC State's Nijel Jones in just 1:02. The pin was his 15th of the season 12th in the first period. Two days later at the Appalachian State Open, the native of Lander, Wyo., cruised to his second tournament title of the year with three victories.

He opened the tournament with a narrow 4-2 decision and then needed just 5:37 in the final two matches to take home top honors. He pinned Levi Clemons in the title bout in 1:32 after needing 4:05 in the semifinal round.

Klopp leads all Blue Devils with a 26-7 overall record. Seventeen of his victories have come from falls this season.

Duke resumes ACC action on Feb. 12 at Virginia and Virginia Tech. The matches are scheduled for 12 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
