DURHAM, N.C.- Recently, sat down with senior wrestler A.J. Guardado to learn more about the West Covina, Calif. native. What TV shows do you keep up with?
A.J. Guardado: Scrubs, Mad Men and How I Meet Your Mother. What is your favorite movie?
AG: That's a tough one, probably a tie between Shawshank Redemption and Pulp Fiction and Unforgiving. Do you have any superstitions or pre-meet rituals?
AG: Yea, I have my dad's initials written on my head gear and I always say a little prayer that I have been saying since my junior year of high school. What is on your bucket list?
AG: Go to Japan, skydive, and learn on how to play the piano. What is the biggest obstacle you've had to overcome athletically?
AG: Definitely, my father's passing.  He passed away a week before my first tournament my freshman year of high school. There was a point where I convinced myself that I wasn't going to wrestle. For the most part people were just like, "well, what would your dad want?" and that's all I needed to hear because I knew he would have wanted me to keep doing pushing and do the best I could. What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
AG: My mom makes these spicy beef tacos and homemade Spanish rice and beans. Can you cook? If so, what are you good at making?
AG: I can. My favorite thing to cook is breakfast.  I make a really good turkey and cheese omelette with waffles and sausage. What has been your favorite class at Duke?
AG: Any history class with Barry. What has been your toughest class at Duke?
AG: Probably an entrepreneurship class. Where do you like to study?
AG: The second floor of Perkins in the green chairs. Who would you trade places with for a day?
AG: Rob Dyrdek, he's worth millions right now, and his whole life consists of living and working out of a big fun house, and just getting whatever he wants to do with that money which is mostly helping people and having fun. Who is your dream date?
AG: Eva Mendes What's your worst habit?
AG: I grind my teeth. Who would you want to play you in a movie?
AG: Some people, I don't know why, say that I remind them of Michael C. Hall in his role as Dexter. What is your favorite restaurant in Durham?
AG: Probably Torerro's.
