With the Duke Victory…
• Picked up the program’s 56th-straight win over an unranked, non-conference opponent at home while improving to 33-2 against non-conference opponents at Cameron Indoor Stadium dating back to the 2008-09 campaign.
• First time Duke has had five players in double-figures since defeating Vanderbilt on March 20, 2012.
• Won its 25th consecutive home game in the month of November, dating back to 2001. The team also moved to 22-3 in the month of November over the past four seasons.
• Took a 1-0 advantage in the series after facing Iona for the first time in program history.
• Improved to 13-1 all-time against teams from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, while head coach Joanne P. McCallie moved to 3-2 all-time against MAAC members.
Junior Haley Peters
• Scored in double figures for the second time in as many games, finishing the afternoon with 11 points on 4-for-9 shooting from the floor.
• Also pulled down eight rebounds, including six on the defensive end.
Senior Allison Vernerey
• Matched a career-high with 22 points, leading the Blue Devils in scoring for the ninth time in her career.
• Scored 10 of the Blue Devils’ first 15 points in the contest.
• Tallied 20 points on 10-for-12 shooting from the field in the first 20 minutes of play to go along with six rebounds and four assists.
• Registered double-figure scoring for the first time this season and the 25th time in her career.
• Matched a career high with four blocks while swatting three or more blocks for the fourth time in her career.
• Also notched seven rebounds, five assists and a steal.
• Picked up her 42nd career game with five or more rebounds.
Freshman Alexis Jones
• Totaled seven points on 3-for-5 shooting over 30 minutes of action.
• Hit the first three-pointer of her career to extend Duke’s lead to 45-18 with 3:43 to go in the first half.
• Pulled down seven rebounds to surpass the five rebounds she recorded in the Blue Devils’ season opener.
• Also collected five assists, one block and one steal.
Junior Chelsea Gray
• Was one of five Blue Devils to register double-figure scoring, finishing with 18 points.
• Reached double figures in the points column for the second time in as many games and the 45th time in her career.
• Dished six or more assists for the second consecutive game while leading the team in the assists column.
• Also recorded seven rebounds for the 27th game of her career with five or more boards.
• Went 6-for-6 at the free throw line to extend her streak of consecutive free throws made to 27, dating back to the 2011-12 season.
Junior Tricia Liston
• Scored 12 points on 3-for-5 shooting from three-point range to reach double figures in the points column for the second time this season and the 28th time in her career.
• Extended her streak of consecutive games with at least one three-pointer to nine, dating back to the 2011-12 season.
• Led Duke in rebounding with nine boards, including seven on the defensive end.
• Also contributed three assists and three steals in the win.
Sophomore Elizabeth Williams
• Came off the bench to tally 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field in 18 minutes of play.
• Scored in double figures for the first time this season and the 28th time in her career.
• Swatted six blocks while also hauling in five rebounds and recording two assists and two steals.
Freshman Sierra Moore
• Played a season-high 22 minutes, scoring seven points and recording five rebounds.
Sophomore Ka’lia Johnson
• First Blue Devil off the bench, checking in with 14:05 remaining in the first half.
• Collected her first points of the 2012-13 campaign, completing a three-point play with 13:28 to go in the second half.
• Notched new career highs with seven points and six rebounds.
• Also matched career highs in steals (2) and assists (2).
Sophomore Jenna Frush
• Entered the game with 5:20 remaining
• Played a career-high five minutes, while grabbing a rebound on the defensive end of the floor.
Other Duke Notes…
• As a team, shot 60.0 percent (24-40) from the field in the first half.
• The Blue Devils topped the 80-point mark for the second consecutive game and reached the triple-digit mark for the first time since recording 107 points in a win over UNC Wilmington on Dec. 20, 2011.
• The 31 scored by Iona are the fewest points allowed by the Blue Devils since holding Clemson to 31 points in an 81-37 win on Jan. 27, 2012.
• Scored 40 points off of 27 forced turnovers.
• Outrebounded Iona, 56-37.
• Scored 56 points in the paint.
• The junior class accounted for 43 points.
• Had five players reach double-digits in the scoring column.
