DURHAM, N.C.-The Duke University wrestling team continues its dual schedule this weekend with a pair of road bouts at VMI and ACC foe Virginia. The Blue Devils travel to VMI, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m., and make the short trip to Virginia Jan. 20 at 12 p.m.
VMI and Virginia Match Details
Duke opens the weekend in Lexington, Va., with a 7 p.m., match at VMI. Less than 24 hours later Duke will grapple with Virginia at Memorial Gymnasium. Admission is free for both matches. Series History with VMI
Duke and VMI will meet for the 35th time in the programs' histories and for the fourth time in the previous six seasons. The Keydets lead the all-time series 34-10, including the most recent bout in 2010. The Blue Devils own two of the past three victories against the Keydets and last won in Lexington in 2009.
Series History with Virginia
The Blue Devils will take on the Cavaliers for the 60th time since the first bout in 1929. Duke is 6-52-2 overall and last defeated Virginia in 2005. The Cavaliers captured a 39-3 win last season in Charlottesville.
Duke heads into the weekend with a 1-4 overall record after falling to No. 11 Virginia Tech. Redshirt freshman Conner Hartmann paces the team with a 17-8 overall mark and 2-3 record in duals at 197 pounds. At 133 pounds, redshirt sophomore Brandon Gambucci is 3-1 overall in duals and 8-2 for the year, while redshirt freshman Trey Adamson will be looking for his 10th victory of the year at 174 pounds.

Duke has faced five VMI wrestlers in tournaments over the course of the 2012-13 campaign. The Blue Devils are 5-0 overall in matches against Keydets, registering two pins and three decisions. Both Trey Adamson and Brian Self own falls, while Marcus Cain, Tanner Hough and Immanuel Kerr-Brown each earned decisions against VMI earlier in the year. Among the possible rematches will be Hough versus Ryan Goodsell and Brian Self against Urayoan Garcia. Against Virginia, Duke is 1-4 in matches with Cavaliers with Kerr-Brown picking up a win while wrestling unattached at the Michigan State Open. The two potential rematches against the Cavailers will be Diego Bencomo against Zach Nye, Immanuel Kerr-Brown up against Jedd Moore, and Trey Adamson versus Jon Fausey. All three will be looking for wins in those matches.
Virginia, ranked 11th in the most recent national poll, enters the weekend with a pair of ACC matches on tap. The Cavaliers travel to North Carolina for a Jan. 19 match before hosting the Blue Devils. Virginia is 9-3 overall and 0-1 in ACC action and has six wrestlers ranked in the latest InterMat individual rankings. Matt Snyder and Nick Sulzer come in at No. 7 at 125 and 165 pounds, respectively, while No. 14 Jon Fausey owns a team-best 24-4 overall record from the 174-pound division. George DiCamillo and Jedd Moore also have surpassed the 20-win mark with 22-6 and 23-5 marks.

The match with the Blue Devils will be the home opener for VMI. Juan Adams owns a team-best 12-8 record and a 2-0 mark in duals from the 285-pound division. At 141 pounds, Ryan Goodsell is 3-2 in dual matches and 9-10 for the year, while John Dommert is 2-5 in duals at 174 pounds.
