Postgame Notes l February 11, 2013

With the Duke Victory…

•    Moved to 22-1 overall and 12-0 in ACC action. 
•    Won its 36th straight contest at home against an ACC opponent.
•    Coach P moved to 38-2 all-time at home against ACC foes.
•    Won its fifth consecutive home contest against Maryland.
•    Improved to 10-2 over the last five years against top 10 opponents in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
•    Moved to 11-0 at home this season.
•    Coach P moved to 79-5 all-time at home in Cameron Indoor Stadium over her six years.
•    Overall, won its 15th straight game in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
•    Won its fourth consecutive home game against a ranked opponent.
•    Maryland head coach Brenda Frese dropped to 0-10 all-time in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
•    Moved the all-time series versus Maryland to 39-39. 
•    Coach P improved to 8-8 all-time against the Terrapins.

Sophomore Elizabeth Williams
•    Posted her fourth double-double of the season and ninth of her career with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
•    Notched double-digit scoring for the 25th straight ACC contest.
•    Blocked a shot for the 56th straight game since arriving at Duke, which is a new school record passing Alison Bales (55).
•    Moved into sole possession of eighth place on Duke’s single-season blocks list.

Junior Haley Peters
•    Held to a season-low zero points in 28 minutes, but only took two shots.

Junior Chelsea Gray
•    Became the 28th player in Duke history to reach 1,000 career points and the 10th fastest in only 90 games.  She did on a free throw at the 5:51 mark of the first half.
•    Collected a career-high 28 points on 6-of-13 shooting.
•    Drained a career-high 13 free throws on 14 attempts. 
•    Notched 20 or more points for the third time this season and sixth time in her career.
•    With her three assists, moved into ninth on Duke’s career assist list.
•    Moved into sixth place on Duke’s single-season steals charts with her four steals on the night (86).
•    Took two charges on the night to give her 16 on the season and 33 for her career.
•    Drained three three-pointers in the contest to give her six over the last two games.
•    Netted double-figure scoring for the 17th time this season and the 60th time in her career.

Junior Tricia Liston
•    Finished with 17 points and hit 1-of-3 treys.
•    Hit a three-pointer in her team-best sixth straight game.
•    Moved into tied for eighth on Duke’s career three-pointers made list with 132.
•    Came off the bench to score 11 points in the first half.
•    Registered double-figure scoring for the 15th time this season and 41st time in her career.

Other Duke Notes…
•    Forced 24 Maryland turnovers and scored 18 points off those turnovers.
•    Held Maryland to only 56 points, which is a season-low in ACC play this season.
•    Scored 28 points in the paint to Maryland’s 14.
•    Outrebounded for the second straight contest, 41-39.
•    Hit a season-high 21 free throws on 22 attempts.
•    Scored 23 points off the bench.
•    The 56 points by Maryland is the fewest points in the series since 2005 (44).
•    Turned the ball over only 16 times. 
•    Notched 14 steals on the night by six different players.
•    Will next travel to Virginia Tech on Thursday, Feb. 14 for a 7:00 p.m., contest in Blacksburg, Va.
