DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke University wrestling team returns home for the first time since November for a pair of duals against ranked opponents this weekend. The Blue Devils welcome No. 12 Virginia and No. 24 Stanford, Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Duke hosts the Cavaliers in its ACC home opener Friday night at 7 p.m., in Card Gymnasium. The Blue Devils return to Card the following morning for a dual with the Cardinal at 11 a.m. Admission is free to both matches.

Live scoring and live video will be available for both bouts. Trackwrestling.com will provide the live scoring, while the Blue Devil Network will stream the match live on GoDuke.com. Fans can subscribe to BDN to watch live.

Parking for Saturday’s match will be affected by the Duke men’s basketball game. Fans attending the Stanford dual will need to park in the men’s basketball general public parking lots on Circuit Drive.  The cost to park is $10 and only CASH is accepted at the lot entrances.

Duke and Virginia will meet for the 62nd time, while the Blue Devils wrestle Stanford for the first time. The Cavaliers have dominated the series 53-6-2, winning eight straight. The two matches will be Duke’s third and fourth of the year against top-25 opponents.

The Blue Devils enter the weekend with a 3-5 overall record after going 2-2 at the Pitt Duals last weekend. Duke owns wins over Cleveland State, Clarion and Buffalo. Headlining the Duke lineup are No. 19 Conner Hartmann and 197 pounds and Immanuel Kerr-Brown at 157.

Hartmann recently posted a 3-1 day at the Pitt Duals, including upending No. 13 Nick Bonnaccorsi of Pittsburgh for his first ACC victory. He is 11-4 overall, 6-2 in duals and 1-2 against ranked foes. He will potentially face another top-20 opponent as No. 20 Dan Scherer of Stanford is among the Cardinal probables.

Kerr-Brown has been on a tear recently and leads the team with 13 wins at 13-6 overall. At the Pitt Duals, the Rome, Ga., native went 2-2 with a decision over 19th-ranked Austin Matthews of Clarion. Like Hartmann, Kerr-Brown is also 6-2 in duals and 2-2 against top-20 opponents. He will face his fifth ranked opponent this weekend in No. 14 Stephen Doty of Virginia.

At 174 pounds, redshirt sophomore Trey Adamson has been solid for the Blue Devils with a 6-2 dual match record. He joined Hartmann in going 3-1 at the Pitt Duals and sports a team-best six major decisions.

The Duke lineup is a young group with four true freshmen and a fifth redshirt freshman. Brian Self is Duke’s lone senior in the lineup at heavyweight and is 2-6 in duals this season.

Virginia enters the ACC dual with an 11-2 record and a 1-0 conference mark. Redshirt junior Nick Sulzer at 165 leads the way for the Cavaliers with a 22-1 record and No. 2 ranking, while No. 14 Stephen Doty is just behind him at 18-6 at 174 pounds. Overall, Virginia has six wrestlers among the top 20 and nine among the starters with double digit wins.

Stanford, ranked 24th, is 9-4 overall and is coming off of a narrow 21-14 loss to Oregon State. The Cardinal’s big wins came over then-No. 15 Maryland and No. 17 Michigan early in the season. Redshirt senior Ryan Mango is tops for Stanford with a No. 12 ranking and 18-3 record at 133 pounds. Jim Wilson sports a team-high 24 wins at 165, while No. 14 Evan Silver is 16-4 overall at 125.

The Blue Devils hit the road next for a midweek matchup with Appalachian State, Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
