2012 IC4A/ECAC Championships

Events will commence on Friday with the men's and women's multi-events. Freshman Ian Rock will compete in the men's decathlon while fellow freshman Teddi Maslowski will take on the women's heptathlon.
On the track, junior Dominick Robinson and freshman Shaun Thompson will race in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase and will be followed by the 5,000 and 10,000. On the women's side, seniors Carly Seymour and Megan Deakins will be joined by sophomore Madeline Morgan in the women's 5,000 while senior Andrew Brodeur, sophomore Domenick DeMatteo and freshman Morgan Pearson will run in the men's division. Junior Kayla Hale and sophomore Brian Atkinson will represent the Blue Devils in the 10,000. Sophomore Erica Brand will round out the Blue Devil's first day of by competing in the women's discus throw.
The multi-events will lead off the competition again on Saturday and will be followed by the women's events including freshman Carolyn Baskir in the 1500, sophomore Hannah Goranson in the 100 hurdles, freshman Elizabeth Kerpon in the 400, senior All-American Cydney Ross and freshman Abby Farley in the 800, and the quartet of Kerpon, Ross, freshman Lauren Hansson and senior Brittany Whithead in the 4x400 relay. All running events taking place on Saturday are trials to determine Sunday's final heats.
In the field events, senior Amy Fryt and junior Emily Mattoon will participate in the women's pole vault finals while juniors Andrea Hopkins and Shannon Sullivan will throw the javelin and sophomore All-Amercan Michelle Anumba will compete in the hammer throw.
For the men, sophomore Domenick DeMatteo and freshmen Nate McClafferty and Brian Schoepfer will race in the 1500, junior All-American Curtis Beach will participate in the 110 hurdles and senior Stephen Clark in the 800 to conclude the running events. Sophomore Justin Amezquita will compete off of the track in the men's pole vault finals.
The individuals who qualified for the finals in their event will race again on Sunday to determine a champion. They will be joined by the 3,000 which will include the 2011 NCAA 10,000 champion Juliet Bottorff.
Several Blue Devils are slated to compete in a variety of field events on the final day including Anumba and Brand in the women's shot put. Senior Austin Carpenter and freshman Thomas Lang will compete in the men's javelin throw while Beach and sophomore Tanner Anderson and Michael Krone will compete in the men's high jump.
Senior Michael Barbas qualified for the men's shot put but is electing to compete in the local 2012 Wolfpack Invite in order to attend Duke's graduation ceremonies to be held on Sunday morning.
