FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior Cydney Ross earned First Team All-America honors by finishing sixth in the women's 800 meters at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville Ark., Saturday, March 9.  The St. Louis, Mo., native ran a personal best time of 2:04.52, and broke her own school record that she last weekend, in her final indoor race as a Blue Devil.

"I don't know how she looked better than ever but she looked better than she ever has," commented associate head coach Kevin Jermyn.  "To PR in her third race of the weekend after going three weekends in a row with ACCs, the last chance meet at Notre Dame and this weekend she definitely surprised me.  I am thrilled for her."

The race was a great finish to Ross' senior indoor season where she broke the school record in the 800m twice, including tonight, and earned the title of ACC Champion in the women's 800m on February 23.  The fifth-year senior has already graduated with her B.A. in Public Policy and a minor in African American Studies and is currently pursuing a Master's of Management Studies.

The Blue Devils will take a week off before opening the outdoor season at the HPU Vertklasse Meeting in High Point, N.C., on March 22-23.  More information will be available at www.GoDuke.com
