Women's 4x100 Advances on Day One of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In the first day of competition at the 119th Penn Relays Carnival, the women’s 4x100 meter relay team qualified for the ECAC finals Friday.  The team of senior LaCresha Styles and sophomores Lauren Hansson, Baily Murphy and Elizabeth Kerpon crossed the line in 46.45 to finish third in their heat and 18th overall.

The Duke women's distance medley relay also competed on day one of the Penn Relays.  The quartet of juniors Rebecca Craigie and Brianna Welch along with sophomores Alexis Roper and Abby Farley ran a time of 11:36.30 to finish third in the college division. 

The Blue Devil’s top individual performance of the day was a personal record by junior Jessie Rubin in the women’s 5,000, crossing the line in fifth place in the collegiate division with a time of 16:30.42.

The Penn Relays will continue Friday, April 26 at Franklin Field.  A full recap of Blue Devil action will be available at www.GoDuke.com.
