DURHAM, N.C. - Associate Head Coach Kevin Jermyn was named the Southeast Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year. Jermyn was one of The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 73 regional award winners for NCAA Division I track and field.
Jermyn was awarded this honor for his fantastic work with the women's distance runners this year. Jermyn's athletes picked up 46 of the 81.5 total points for Duke's fourth place finish at the ACC Championships and 57 of the 74.5 points for Duke's first place finish at the ECAC Championships.
Jermyn also coached the 4x800 Penn Relay Champions to a time of 8:25.95 and qualified 12 women to the NCAA First Round, four of which went on to the NCAA Championships. At the Championships, three of his women were named All-American with sophomore Juliet Bottorff winning the women's 10k in 34:25.86.
