DURHAM, N.C. – A conference-high 18 Blue Devils, 10 women and eight men, were named to the 2013 All-ACC Indoor Track & Field Academic Team as announced Tuesday, by the conference office. To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
The women's squad placed a conference-high 10 individuals on the academic team. Junior Miray Seward earned the honor for the third time in her career while seniors Emily Matoon, Cydney Ross, Juliet Bottorff, juniors Gabby Levac and Michelle Anumba, sophomore Carolyn Baskir and Elizabeth Kerpon and freshman Megan Clark and Anima Banks were all first-time honorees.
The Duke men's squad placed eight individuals on the All-ACC Academic Team, tying for first in the league with Florida State. Juniors Justin Amezquita and Tanner Anderson were tabbed for the award for the second time in their careers while seniors Dominick Robinson, Marcus Wright and James Kostelnik, sophomore Nate McClafferty and freshmen Tommy Meister were first time honorees.
