SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rising junior and pole vault specialist Megan Clark followed a first-place finish a year ago at the United States Track & Field (USATF) Junior Championship by tying for sixth at this year’s USATF Championship Friday evening in Sacramento, Calif.

Clark concluded a breakout sophomore season with a sixth-place finish after clearing 14-1.25 (4.30) on her second attempt at the height. After clearing the opening height, the bar was moved to 14-7.25 (4.45), however the Fort Benning, Ga., native was unable to match her personal best mark, missing on all three attempts.

Last season, Clark won the 2013 USATF Junior Championships, clearing a height of 13-7.25 (4.15), which advanced her to the 2013 Pan American Junior Games.

Duke graduate Shannon Rowbury also competed Friday evening, placing second in the women’s 5,000 nearly improving on her personal-best mark, clocking a time of 15:01.71.
