Duke 89, Minnesota 71

Team Notes:

•    Duke won its 21st consecutive regular-season tournament game, dating back to the 2006 CBE Classic.
•    The Blue Devils were efficient from the three-point line, hitting 8-of-10 (.800) shots from long range which ranks as the second highest three-point field goal percentage in school history. Only the 1987-88 Duke Blue Devils, who hit 10-of-11 (.909) three-pointers against Clemson on Feb. 1, 1998, shot better from beyond the arc in a game.
•    The Blue Devils also shot well from the free throw line, hitting 21-of-26 (.808) foul shots. That marks the second straight game in which the Blue Devils have shot over 80.0 percent from the free throw line. Forward Mason Plumlee shot 8-of-10 from the free throw line and is now shooting a career-best 78.1 percent from the free throw line on the season. Duke made nine consecutive free throws to end the game.
•    Duke started 4-0 for the ninth consecutive season and for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons.
•    Duke improved to 70-24 all-time when playing as the No. 5 team in the country (AP poll). The win was Duke’s sixth in a row when playing as the fifth-ranked team.
•    Duke played its 180th straight game as a top-10 team. The Blue Devils are 150-30 during that span.
•    With 40 points in the first half and 49 in the second half, the Blue Devils have scored at least 40 points in four of their last five halves.
•    In November, Duke has now won 53 of its last 54 games dating back to the 2004-05 season. Duke’s lone loss during that span was on Nov. 29, 2012, at No. 2 Ohio State.
•    In neutral site contests since the 2008-09 season, Duke is now 38-4. Duke has won four in-season tournaments during that span in addition to three ACC Tournaments and the 2009-10 NCAA Championship.
•    Five Blue Devils scored in double figures, led by Seth Curry with 25 points. The last time Duke had five players score in double figures was Dec. 30, 2011, in a 110-70 win over Western Michigan. Curry also led the way in that game with 22 points.
•    For the second straight game, Duke used the starting lineup of Quinn Cook, Mason Plumlee, Rasheed Sulaimon, Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly. Those five combined to score 87 of Duke’s 89 points, or 97.7 percent of the team’s total. On the season, those five combine to average 72.6 points per game, or 89.1 percent of Duke’s total scoring.
•    Duke did not get a point from its bench until the 6:04 mark in the second half when Quinn Cook fed Amile Jefferson under the basket for a layup. Duke’s bench players attempted only three shots.
•    Seniors Seth Curry, Ryan Kelly and Mason Plumlee all scored in double figures for the third straight game. Those three have combined to give Duke 42 or more points in all four games this season and together average 51.1 points per game with 11 double-figure scoring performances.
